Subject: IBET N.U. Lagoon (Mostly Frozen) & Wilmette Harbor (Completely Frozen) Tues 2-13-18
Hello Bird People,

Hard to find parking, hard to walk in the snow & not much seen today.
The Lagoon at N.U. is mostly frozen with not much seen except for lots
of Geese. Here's my short list:

N,U. Lagoon (9:45-10:45 a.m.)

Canada Geese (~125)
Mallard (7)
Redhead (2-M & 1-F)
Goldeneye (1-F)
Ring Billed Gull (32)
Herring Gull (4-5)

The ice has filled in all the area where open water should be & we
need something other than east winds to find ducks in the lake.

Willmette Harbor to my surprise had no open water at all & the coast
guard folks were doing ice training which featured about 10 of them
rolling on the ice one at a time in their orange jackets.
Never a dull moment except when it comes to birds seen today.

Bird-Of-The-Day to the Redheads.
