A male NORTHERN PARULA was seen on the north trail about midway along the pond complex on the morning TAS Bird Walk. It was with a WILSON'S WARBLER, Black-throated Gray, Orange-crowned and Yellow-rumped Warbler. The catkins on the cottonwood tress are opening. Lots of bird action in store.

Also, both AMERICAN BITTERN were seen at the Gazebo Pond. The dawn Blackbird lift-off from Sweetwater was an estimated 860 birds going out in groups of 10s and 20s. It lasted about 10 minutes in all. Mostly Great-tailed Grackles, but plenty of Red-winged and a few Yellow-headed blackbirds. The lift-off is best viewed from the west gate off the bike trail.
