Subject: [obol] Columbia County birds
DUSKY CANADA GEESE (6) seen on Scappoose lowlands several days ago. Two had red collars. They were standing near thousands of cacklers in a field. A male CINNAMON TEAL is hanging out at the pond next to the wastewater treatment building on Columbia Blvd in same area. Most of the waterfowl seen locally right now appear to be decoys on the larger local wetlands.

In yard: Two male EVENING GROSBEAKS appeared briefly during the week, and SISKINS and LESSER GOLDFINCHES have been regulars at a nyjer sock. I also have a flock of 7 CALIFORNIA QUAIL that are here daily (2 female, 5 males). Bird twitterings and singing has taken a leap this past week.
