May I please remind Ar-birders to use playbacks sparingly, if at all?  There may only be two TOSOs in Mt Magazine, and we surely don't want to scare them off by giving them the impression that there are more rivals of their kind there.  And these two birds may be subordinate individuals who were chased off from further west.  So please be considerate.  Avoid sensual harassment :)
When I saw them for the first time last month, it took me two hours of walking around in the fog and cold.  Of course the fact that I have a primitive phone may have played a role in my resisting the urge to do a playback :)

I was unable to find any Townsend’s solitaires today. But that does not mean they aren’t here.

This morning I checked several areas where I’ve found them before: cabin #5, Cameron Bluff, west from cabin #1, the southwestern end of the lodge parking lots, and the hang glider launch. This afternoon I rechecked three of those areas. Still, no luck. I would have checked other areas but ran out of time.

I will be out of pocket this weekend. So, if any birders come up the Mount Magazine please submit a detailed eBird report whether you find a TOSO or not.
