Subject: Snowy Owl Featured on 2018 Working Together for Wildlife Art Print & Patch
Hi PA Birders:

With all the conversation about how birders could better fund bird conservation, there is a great opportunity right now to do so. The PA Game Commission's 2018 Working Together for Wildlife Art Print & Patch feature the Snowy Owl (not a chipmunk or a woodchuck). These products were just released. The Snowy Owl print is essentially the same as the front cover of the February edition of the Pennsylvania Game News found at a store shelf near you. The art print is a really nice painting by Linda M. Hilgert that features a Snowy Owl perched on a fence post with a classic Lancaster County red barn and fields in the background. That is the kind of place where birders often go to see birds of the open country. Nicely done!

The cover story is about these “spectacular visitors” to Pennsylvania and the efforts to study them, primarily through Project SNOWstorm. The current news story of the PA eBird portal features the Snowy Owl & the WTFW program:

Sales of a reproduction of this painting and a matching patch fund the Working Together for Wildlife program which provides monies for a wide variety of wildlife diversity projects (see the eBird story for examples including bats, wood rats, warblers, eagles, thrushes). Sorry for the "shameless commerce division" message... Please spread the word.
