Both the Orchard Oriole and one Nashville Warbler were visible a short time ago at North Lake in GG Park. The oriole was calling from the reeds among its cousin blackbirds, and I finally spotted it sitting up in the tules adjacent to a Red-winged. It then flew onto the southernmost island and vanished. The warbler was on the west side of the lake in a pittosporum, even with the north end of the same island. Also present was a Merlin, and Lee G was kind enough to point out that the Great Horned Owl has returned to its very public nest across from the Buffalo Paddock.
