Subject: [COBOL] Wednesday Birders
Birders headed east looking for raptors and found them fairly scarce in 28 weather. The first excitement came when a 1st winter Northern Shrike gave everyone a show while kiting along Cow Camp Road. This was the first of 3 seen during the day. Hayfields between Brothers and Hampton finally yielded our first eagles. Circling back on Fort Rock road, at least 5 Bald Eagles were observed surveying a herd of cattle beginning to calve. No sparrows. Birds seen were:

Bald Eagle
Northern Harrier
Red-tailed Hawk
Ferruginous Hawk
Golden Eagle
American Kestrel
Prairie Falcon
Rock Pigeon
European Collared Dove
Mourning Dove
Northern Shrike
Western Scrub-Jay
Black-billed Magpie
Common Raven
Mountain Bluebird
European Starling
House Sparrow

Birders today were Diane Burgess, Kara Jakse, Cal Elshoff, Clay Crofton, Candy Cobb, Debra Lumbert, Joel Tinsley, and Sherrie Pierce
