The pond at Constitution Gardens is ice-free, and the species assemblage that was there in December is back. Along with the many Canada geese and Mallards were several Double-crested Cormorants, lots of Ring-billed gulls, several pair of Gadwall, a dozen or so Ring-necked ducks, more than a dozen Northern Shovellers and a pair of American Wigeon.
The Tidal Basin has a skim of ice in the center, and there sat 3 Greater Black-backed gulls and a few Ring-billed gulls.
