Due to increased partying, drinking, trash, and vandalism, the City of Sierra Vista's EOP management will be locking the front access gate, starting this coming week. Public access to the EOP parking lot and overlook will be limited to the following daylight hours:
7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday; no public access on the weekends.
The exception, of course, will be the Sunday morning bird walks, which will continue. You may find the front gate locked if you arrive really early, but a leader will open the gate in time for folks to sign the waiver, use the facilities, etc. At the end of walk, everyone will have to leave, with the leader locking the gate after the last car exits.
Note that the EOP walks are free and conducted every Sunday throughout the year. A new schedule of start times for the EOP walks is below:
Winter EOP walks (November-February) will start at 8 a.m. Spring, summer, and fall EOP walks (March-October) will start at 7 a.m.
