The immature Harris's sparrow is still visiting my feeders in the backyard and has been here for almost two months. My Red- winged and Brewers blackbirds flocks are ever growing. There can be up to 30-40 plus birds feeding at one time. Fox sparrows, White crowned sparrows, Golden crown sparrows, and Song sparrows are regular visitors. Today I had a small flock of Cedar Waxwings. We have just moved back into our home after being gone for 11 years. The trees, marshland behind us, and the vegetation have matured considerably during that time. The bird population has correspondingly grown with the habitat, and subsequently, my pocketbook has taken a hit from more frequent trips to the store for seed.
