Subject: Common Mergs still at Lake Crabtree
The continuing Common Mergansers ó I saw two males and five females ó were still at Lake Crabtree near Raleigh this morning. I didnít see the Canvasbacks, but itís a big lake and I certainly wasnít able to see every bird on it. Lots of Hooded Mergansers, Ring-necked Ducks, Scaups, and the usual gulls, etc. Gorgeous looks at an adult Bald Eagle standing on a patch of ice opposite the fishing pier.
