Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday January 11. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
On January 8 a probable THICK-BILLED MURRE was seen off Tierra del Mar. A
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was seen January 6 near Ona Beach State Park. The
Brownsmead NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH and GYRFALCON, the Alsea Bay RUFF, and the
northeast Portland VIRGINIAšS WARBLER continue to be seen.
Numerous RED and WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS continue along the coast. There are
now two TROPICAL KINGBIRDS at Cape Blanco. On January 7 a LAPLAND LONGSPUR
and a GLAUCOUS GULL were at Yaquina Bay. Another GLAUCOUS GULL was at
Seaside January 4.
Two BARN SWALLOWS were in northeast Portland January 7. One was in Eugene
January 10. A HARRISšS SPARROW was seen January 6 in mid-town Salem. That
day a group of GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES were on Marys Peak in the Coast
Range near Philomath. On January 7 a MOCKINGBIRD was in Eugene near Mt.
