Subject: [SBB] Don Edwards NWR Area
Hello Birders,
This afternoon (Jan 8) I birded mainly the entrance road to Don Edwards NWR, Alviso.
Highlights included:
11 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, flew over at 16:25 from the Arzino Ranch direction flying N, reached A16 pond and turned around and flew right over head at parking area at main gate, then over landfill and out of sight.
3 SNOWY PLOVERS, mixed in with 200+ Semipalmated Plovers and Western Sandpipers at start of entrance road
An adult Peregrine Falcon (anatum sub on tower)
2 Long-billed Curlews flew in as getting dark
325 Dunlins
4 Burrowing Owls seen from Jubilee Church parking lot

NO Ruff seen.
