The weekly walk at Dyke Marsh in Alexandria, sponsored by the Friends of Dyke Marsh and open to all, started off in very frosty conditions (9 degrees) that greatly limited attendance, but fortunately not the birds. Despite a lack of open water and waterfowl, we had a productive walk. Lots of sparrows were encountered throughout the walk, including fox sparrow. A phoebe in the picnic area was a nice surprise, and a peregrine was sunning itself on the Wilson bridge. The little guys were well represented, with both kinglets, yellow-rumped warbler, winter wren, and brown creeper. The complete list is presented below.
