Subject: [MBBIRDS] Mystery Kingbird Follow-up
Today, I began reviewing the packets from the Moss Landing CBC, and the
description provided for the unidentified kingbird strongly suggests a
Western Kingbird. There are a scattering of winter records (according to
eBird) for Western Kingbirds in Santa Cruz County, so this is definitely a
possibility. But, being such an exceptional find, this report will take a
considerable amount of documentation. So again, if anyone is birding in the
Pinto Lake area (perhaps to look for the Eurasian Wigeon at Pinto Lake
County Park), the kingbird was seen in the neighborhood between Doering Lane
and Littleway Lane off Green Valley Road before you get to the park. But the
bird may be along any of those side roads off Green Valley Road; or,
perhaps, may have even moved across Green Valley Road and gone into the
county park.

Anyhow, if anyone is up for a birding treasure hunt, good luck and please
let me know if you strike the jackpot!

Happy birding,

Bob Ramer
