Yesterday all afternoon there were six to seven adult bald eagles feeding on the stretch of the Fox River between the Main Street (Donovan) bridge and the Challenge Dam in downtown Batavia.
With the sunlight bright on the river, the eagles were plucking fish at will. Today is overcast but already there were eagles feeding on fish they'd caught.
This is an excellent visual opportunity for birders and photographers alike. You can park on either side of the river and get excellent view of feeding eagles. Or, walk onto the Peace Bridge (a walking bridge) and you can catch good views of the eagles, Herring gulls and goldeneyes that were all busy on the Fox.
