I arrived at the referenced location in Reno an hour ago finding the Scoter floating on the water surface. It moved once or twice after a few minutes of me being here but it has not moved for the past 45-50 minutes, with its head underwater and wings drooped. Other birders since arrived and the consensus is that the Scoter sadly has passed on.
