Subject: [obol] clarification of Albany Tri-coloreds
To clarify, earlier eBird postings indicated the Tri-coloreds east of Albany are not in the gravel quarry that's on the same road, but are associated separately with a cattle operation that also attracts hundreds of Brewers, Red-winged, and Starlings and is at least a half mile to the northeast. I was there today for about 20 minutes and did not see the Tri-coloreds but could have missed them given the enormous numbers of birds constantly taking flight and moving around.

Subject: [birding] Mid-Willamette Valley Tri-colored Blackbirds and Barrow's Goldeneye

In the interest of sharing the main birds that have been prompting repeated reports of "rarities" on eBird ...

Local birders continue to report as much as six Tri-colored Blackbirds at the Philomath sewage treatment ponds (access permission required) and and smaller numbers in the gravel quarries off of Eichler Rd. east of Albany (on private property but owner seems to tolerate birders).

The apparent immature male Barrow's Goldeneye hanging out with a female Bufflehead at the mitigation wetland/scrape along Bruce Rd. at Finley NWR also continues to be reported.
