Subject: [LABIRD-L] Southeast Louisiana
I was able to bird SE Louisiana on Friday afternoon and Saturday and had a nice trip.

Highlights included the following:
Brown-crested Flycatcher in Chalmette:
Fork-tailed Flycatcher: and Groove-billed Anis in Plaquemines

I went back to the Fork-tailed Flycatcher field at sunset to look for owls and saw both Short-eared and Barn as well as hearing Barred in the adjacent woods.

On Grande Isle I saw the continuing Shiny Cowbird and Yellow-headed Blackbird

I tried unsuccessfully for the Mangrove Yellow Warbler but only had a Northern Waterthrush:

I looked unsuccessfully for jaegers and gannets during a 40 minute seawatch from the west end of the island:

I had an immature Baltimore Oriole at the Oak Ridge Community Park in Golden Meadow:

Happy New Year
