drove roads here and adjacent Parke County looking for longspurs and snow buntings; no Snows, but got a couple of pipits I had not anticipated.

Comments: Drove Lambert, Archer, Kyle Roads. Snow-covered ground (barely, 1-2 inches), farm fields. Sunny, clear, calm, cold (4 deg F).

Horned Lark 60 with Lapland Longspurs in cattle pen and nearby fields, Archer and Kyle Roads.
AMERICAN PIPIT 2 about 50 yards apart, both foraging or picking up gravel in gravel road (Archer Road, about 0.2 miles north of Kyle Rd). Bobbing tail whenever moving. Gave flight calls when they flew off. Photos in checklist.
Lapland Longspur 110 big flock in cattle pen on east side of Archer Rd near south end, about 0.2 miles south of farm buildings and cattle herd. With about half as many Horned Larks, all pecking at frozen cattle dung piles and nearby ground. Birds kept arriving from nearby fields.
