Subject: [NEBirds] Crossbills and Glaucous at Branched Oak
An afternoon visit to Branched Oak Lake turned up a couple of minor rarities, a flock of 4 RED CROSSBILLS by the fee station on Liebers Point, and a 1st-cycle GLAUCOUS GULL with the very distant gull flock on the water. A big flock of mixed winter songbirds around the ranger center on Liebers Point didn't include anything out of the ordinary but might be worth checking. A fly-over, heard-only finch that was making a double-note call here was probably a Redpoll.
