Weather:
Clouds were on the increase throughout the day, building enough to block
most of the sunshine by mid-afternoon. The wind was again a force to be
reckoned with, howling out of the west at 20-30mph. The temperature stayed
below freezing for the duration.

Raptor Observations:
Red-tailed Hawks had the skies to themselves to close out the season. Two
stayed to hunt the Wapack, but the rest of the hawks worked the updrafts to
stream down towards their winter destinations.

Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptor Day List:
American Crow- 1
Common Raven- 8
Dark-eyed Junco- 6
White-throated Sparrow- 2
Red Crossbill- 1

Predictions:
The season has officially come to a close. There will still be days of
hawks pushing south, days when nothing but the hardy locals are flying,
days of fair weather and foul, and there will be days when the tide will
turn and they will return to the northeast for another summer before this
journey begins again. Thank you, everyone who played a part in making 2017
another memorable year!
