Subject: [OrangeCountyBirding] chestnut (not on the collar)
A handsome adult male American x Eurasian Wigeon hybrid was at Carr Park
(Heil/Springdale) this afternoon. Later, what sounded much like a Yellow
Warbler calling from the south corner of the eucalyptus grove that borders
the west end of Huntington Lake (HCP West) proved to be an immature
Chestnut-sided Warbler. It lacks chestnut on the sides, and thus isn't
amenable to sexing. Further east along the edge of the lake at the base of
South Point (the name according to Loren), what sounded exactly like a
Yellow Warbler proved to be an adult female returning for its fourth winter
