Today Kim and I hiked from Gate 37 Petersham around North Dana point in the Quabbin Reservoir. In general birding was slow but the scenery was spectacular. We did have a Red-throated Loon just W of the tip of the point and an Imm. Snowy Owl on a sandy island also W. of the point. It is about 4 miles southeast of the Snowy Owl that has been in New Salem the past few days and is a second bird since the one in New Salem was there when we returned to town. Seems they have taken a liking to the N Quabbin area.
