I'll just be honest and say that I parked at the gate and walked in. The sign said trails were closed and then there was a sign specifically only about the west trail being closed...probably due to a huge construction pit presently taped off. There were 3 other cars there and about 6 people walking around the trails inside.

Sounds like people are taking a risk birding there.

Hello Russ and others,

So what is the status at Fernhill?

I saw a post about the trails being closed and the parking lot too I think.

Russ did very well if the access is limited!

In Forest Grove at the Fernhill Wetlands, there was a HARRIS'S SPARROW with a mixed sparrow flock. (45.5059573,-123.0894980)

The BLACK PHOEBE was hanging out on the fence near the construction on the north end. The RED -SHOULDERED HAWK was very visible on the various snags in the middle and overall, the place was stuffed, absolutely stuffed, with waterfowl.

Good birding,
