Corrections: the Varied Thrush in Overgaard is actually at a different yard than where the Carolina Wren was found a couple of years ago (same observer though). The Varied Thrush was found in the yard at the end of Ruby Ln. off of Mogollon Dr., northwest of the intersection of Mogollon Dr. and Hwy. 260, and southwest of the Lutheran Church. This is north of the senior center.

This appears to be only a 6th county record. It’s also worth noting that adjacent Apache Co. apparently still lacks records for this species (although a close record a few years ago from the Navajo Co. portion of Petrified Forest National Park). Today’s bird is in the same yard that hosted the state’s fourth Carolina Wren a couple years ago.
