Subject: Fallout along Potomac and Shenandoah RIvers
I drove along the Potomac between Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry this morning and saw:
35 Tundra Swans fly over and 3 on the river (2 adults and one signet - technically MD; not WV)12 Buffleheads25 Canada Geese6 Ruddy ducks23 Scaub1 Hooded Merganser1 Horned Grebe6 Mallards6 Black Duck3 Gadwalls2 Bald eagle
2 Kingfisher1 Turkey12 American crows1 Raven12 Bonaparte Gulls2 GB Heron1 meadowlark6 Starlings, 7 C wrens, 6 C waxwings, 2 Flickers, 3 RB woodpeckers, 1 hairy, 2 cardinals & 8 chickadees
I then drove along the Shenandoah River from Millville to Rissler road and saw:
2 hunters in a blind with 20 decoys just south of the damNO Geese15 Buffleheads15 Ruddy ducks7 C Loons3 C Mergansers55 Bonaparte Gulls3 GB Herons1 Black Vulture1 RS Hawk4 Kingfishers5 crows2 bluejays1 DC Cormorant2 GC Kinglets, 5 C wrens,2 downeys, 2 RB Woodpeckers, 2 Bluebirds, 4 Chickadees, 2 YR Warblers & 5 WT sparrows.
