I drove up this morning to check out the Praires in Far North MO. Nice Sunny Day for a change, but pretty quiet overall. The highlight was seeing one dark phase and two light phase Rough-legged Hawks in one area at Dunn Ranch. Saw a few of the Bison, but didn't come across any Praire Chickens today. Had a small flock of Lapland Longspurs though. Fun watching a couple of large White-tailed Bucks walking around in the daylight in the tall grass. Pawnee Praire was really quiet with a flock of 13 Horned Lark the most interesting sighting. Was hoping for Smith's Longspurs, but the continued Praire restoration leaves little available habitat for those.
Still getting Pine Siskins at the feeders in the yard everyday.
