Subject: [MDBirding] Out-of-area MEGA Alert-Corn Crake on Long Island
Hi all,

This is a one-time alert for a mega rarity within a day’s drive:

In the realm of the completely off-the-wall rarity, a Corn Crake was found today on Long Island, by Ken and Sue Feustel. There have only been about a half-dozen records of this species in North America and it is difficult species to see even in Europe.

Full information, directions and some enticing photos can be accessed from the
New York list, accessed though ABA Birding News or on eBird (Suffolk Co.)
