Subject: Merlin, Schenley Park, Pittsburgh
Hi all,
I saw a Merlin today at the same spot in Schenley Park where one
overwintered last year.
The bird perched briefly on a bare tree on the higher-elevation part of the
golf course (between Schenley Drive and Circle Dr.) before being chased off
by one of the Peregrine Falcons from the Cathedral of Learning.
Hopefully this bird will stay the winter for all Pittsburgh birders to
enjoy.
Good birding,
Sameer Apte
