Birded briefly at the north end of north pond on Pea Island this morning. Had 4 Common Gallinules, a first-of-season Hooded Merganser and 5 Ring-necked Ducks. Lots of other ducks, coots and several species of shorebirds were seen. The two Golden-Plovers are still present on the flats north of the photo blind, as were 3 American Pipits. Found a Saltmarsh Sparrow just north of the viewing platform. An American Bittern and Eurasian Wigeon were seen just before I arrived.
An hour or so on Jennette's Pier afterwards rewarded us with lots of Black Scoters, a few Surf Scoters and a female Common Eider. Also a Parasitic Jaeger.
