Subject: [AZNMbirds] se AZ: Tucson - Canada/Cackling Geese
From the Tucson Audubon Society's RBA (520-629-0510 X 3 or rarebirdalert AT
tucsonaudubon.org):

Brian Nicholas reports 12 small geese at the end of Renaissance Dr along
the Santa Cruz River today (11/5 at 9am).

This is just south of Valencia Road on the west bank:

The ID of these birds is being debated, but the possibility exists that
some or all of them are Cackling Geese, a very rare bird in the area.
Likewise, they could be one of the smaller races of Canada Geese - which
are also rare in the area. If you go, take good notes and videos,
recordings or photos!

thanks Brian-
