The water was high at a late afternoon stop at Church Rd. There was a large flock of Canada Geese which included a Ross’ Goose, Green winged Teal, Gadwall, Northern Shovelers, Common Mergansers, a Bufflehead and Mallards. Ten Wood Ducks were hugging the far shore with a few bathing or chasing each other. A couple of Killdeer made passes over the flock.
Along the trail to the point a poison ivy covered tree was full of Yellow Rumps feasting on the berries. Flocks of blackbirds flew over. A Whitethroated Sparrow, a Northern Flicker and Bluejays completes my observations.
