Today at Gate 35 there was 14 Black-bellied Plovers (had 12 in one location), 2 Dunlins, 2 Greater Yellowlegs, 1 Semipalmated Plover, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 2 Red-necked Grebes a Coopers Hawk and a beautiful male Northern Harrier. The most surprising sighting was a male Ring-necked Pheasant that ran across the road in front of me. In 30+ years of walking around N. Quabbin I can't recall ever seeing a Pheasant in the reservoir. Also surprising was the lack of a Bald Eagle sighting.
