> Comments: sun was coming from the SE corner of the lake which either put waterfowl in sun, half and half or backlit depending on angle. The greatest number of birds were Ring-necked Ducks which concentrated in the middle of the lake North/South and were also in small rafts in different parts of the lake. Both Scaups were present with a larger concentration a bit further South of large raft of mixed ducks as well as being well-represent in the mixed crowd. The lone drake Redhead was in the large central raft. Photos don't do justice to the bird. An unfortunate aspect to viewing birds at Loughberry Lake is that they tend to concentrate in areas that are hard to view. I found a gap in the trees and did a "drive by shooting" with my camera of the main raft, including the Redhead.
