Subject: Black-crowned Night-Heron at Pleasant Creek
A juvenile was perched next to Routes 119/250 in the pond next to the railroad trestle at 11:20. Just as I parked and got out with my camera a passing mine truck flushed it into the trees. Would have been a great photo. I pursued it and it flushed across the road to the Upper Pleasant Creek wetlands, but I could not re-locate it. My first WV night-heron.

Nothing else worth reporting anywhere at Pleasant Creek, where water levels are much higher after the weekend rains.
