Yesterday's Snowy Owl sure seemed early and looking at the record that certainly is the case. The previous early fall date for Nebraska was 6 November (two reports) followed by 8 November (two reports). According to eBird, there are only three reports further south in North America for October. One from northeast Missouri in 1983, another in northern Kentucky in 1960 and lastly one in central Illinois in 2015.
Thanks to Ross Silcock for his stewardship of "The Record" that allowed me to look up the information quickly.
