The year and county do not sound right, but I know that Gary Lingle has been banding orioles at his place on the Platte River. He wrote an article which was published in the June 2015 NBR about his banding. From May 14 to June 5, 2015 he captured over 200 BAOR and OROR in his yard. I copied the data table from his article below.
Males ? Females ? Total
Banded Recaptures Banded Recaptures
Baltimore orioles 77 15 63 9 164
Orchard Orioles 25 2 14 0 41
Total 102 17 77 9 205

Subject: [NEBirds] Baltimore Oriole Banding Question
Does the following sentence ring a bell with anyone? I have it in my notes, but don't know who did this rather amazing banding. Of course my first question was to Rick Schmid, but it wasn't his and Betty's work. Rick suggested it might be a Douglas County in another state.
A banding station in Douglas Co reported large n umbers of Baltimore Orioles passing through 13-15 May 2011; of the 236 captured, 155 were new, 67 were returns from prior years, and only 14 were recaptures from 2011.
Any help is much appreciated!
