Thanks Alan, that worked. No doubt the two Andrews birds look very
different. But the specimens for comparison are from Monterey CA.
It would be nice to have some from Adel or Burns. I suspect that even
if the species once occurred on Steens Mtn, the robust expansion
of the coastal species will preclude it in the future. What's the official
name now? "California Scrub-jay"?"Western" sounds too generic.lpn
