Subject: Warblers - Buhl Park, Mercer Co
Kim Springer rustled up a number of us local birders this morning at
Buhl Park, Hermitage, and we were rewarded with somewhat of a fallout in
the woods just east of the Casino parking area. For an hour or more
there were multiple warblers in sight frequently. We saw a total of nine
warbler species mainly in the many birches and other small trees.
Counting was difficult! Kim's conservative warbler listing on eBird:
Tennessee Warbler 2
Nashville Warbler 2
Cape May Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 1
Bay-breasted Warbler 1
Blackpoll Warbler 1
Palm Warbler 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler 6
Black-throated Green Warbler 1

A Winter Wren, chipping a lot and seen by most of us, was another highlight.
Ruby and Golden-crowned Kinglets were numerous, especially when we went
over to the Julia Buhl garden near the south entrance.
