Subject: [Va-bird] Great Falls NP Bird Walk 10/08/2017 (Fairfax County)

Following is the count from Sunday's weekly bird walk at Great Falls National Park, which included five participants and identified approximately 29 species.
Conditions were less than ideal for birding, given the scattered showers and the challenging lighting.  So in addition to the below tally, here's a short joke to cheer us all up:

Question:  What do you call two turkey vultures up in a tree?Answer:     A "TV set"!

The walk meets on Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. in front of the snack bar/concession stand of the Great Falls Park visitors' center.  All birders are welcome!
