Subject: Hawk migration
Yestserday evening at about 6 p.m. I witnessed a large migration of Mississippi Kites and Swainson's Hawks ahead of the front. The kites came through first, around 75 I counted but I missed the start, followed by a river of Swainson's. I lost count after 400. Closer to the front line, they were very high, rising into the clouds. And toward the end, were a few night hawks, flying lower along the edges of the Swainson's. It was an awe-inspiring sight.
