Subject: [CT Birds] Injured Swainson's Hawk in rehab
Hi all,

A first year SWAINSON'S HAWK was apparently recovered yesterday in
Canterbury, CT, is ill, and has been transported to Massachusetts for
rehab. No word on the bird's current state of health, though it was
described as thin/emaciated.

Of note, there have been at least two (perhaps three) Swainson's Hawks seen
over the past few weeks in the Quebec-New Brunswick region. One of them,
last seen near the New Brunswick-Maine border heading south on Sep 30,
could be the bird that was picked up in CT. Another is still in Quebec as
of yesterday.
