Subject: [OrangeCountyBirding] Common Poorwill - Mile Square Regional Park
Curtis Marantz reports that there is a Common Poorwill at Mile Square
Regional Park, currently (1:30-ish) in the Nature Center. While this is by
no means a rare bird in Orange County and most people probably have it
already, it IS rare to see one in daylight, as most people probably just
hear them vocalizing or catch them in their headlights at night. If the
thought of playing Where's Waldo with a relatively nondescript, big-headed
bird that just sits on the ground until it randomly flushes up out of
nowhere sounds like something you'd be interested in, head on down to the
Nature Center, and good luck!
