At Gleneden Beach this morning. About 5000 surf Scoters with 1000 White-wing, 1 Black and zero Common. There were two groups. Some birds were loitering just outside the surf in both directions (too extreme scope range in both directions). The other grouping was further out and steadily swimming North for the hour that I watched. A resident mentioned they have been out there for several weeks. Also present. Marbled Murrelet, Western and Red-necked Grebes, All three loons, Brown Pelicans, Wigeon, Mallard, Common Murre, Double-crested Cormorants, Fox and Song Sparrow, Wrentit, Bushtit, Chestnut-backed Chickadees.
