Subject: Meadowlarks and Monarchs in abundance at Woolsey Wet Prairie
I went to Woolsey yesterday morning for about an hour and a half and saw 24
species of birds including dozens of meadowlarks plus plenty of killdeer and
female red-winged blackbirds. I thought I heard a bobolink in the distance
but cannot be sure. What I was sure of was a not so secretive sedge wren
who perched on a bush not 15 feet from me and enjoyed posing for about a
dozen photos. There were also literally 100's of Monarchs who were
probably fueling up for a lonf flight in front of them.
