Subject: [CT Birds] Sunrise Walk - Silver Sands
9/29. Milford, Silver Sands State Park - our SUNRISE BIRDING walk had a delightful time tallying 57 species this morning. Highlights included a NORTHERN HARRIER hunting right next to us for 5 minutes, 2 MERLINS, 9 species of warblers including a BLACKBURNIAN, 3 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS (including a gorgeous adult), 6 NELSON'S SPARROWS (crippling looks at 3 from the boardwalk), both Kinglets, and a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO (heard only).
