Spent a few hours at Battery Godfrey this morning joined by a number of others including Brian , Sam, Felix, Peter Pyle, Juan Garcia and two others whose names I do not know. With the easterly winds hopes were high for a good movement and we were not disappointed.
One of the main highlights were the thousands of Vaux's swifts that moved through all morning in flocks of up to 250-300 birds. I estimated 2,000 to 3,000 birds moving.
Other highlights included Greater WF Geese- 3,10 Pintail, Wigeon, Scaup and Shoveler Broad-winged Hawk -1 and possibly 2/3 others: spotted by Peter Many Merlin, Accipters, Harrier Many VG and Tree Swallows Brewers Sparrow- single bird seen for about 2 minutes.
