Subject: [NHBirds] Bedell Bridge Birding Event
Please join members of NH Audubon's Mascoma Chapter at Bedell Bridge State
Historic Site on Saturday, October 7 for our annual fall bird watching
outing. The outing begins at 7:00 a.m. and will run until approximately
9:00 a.m.

The walk will be co-hosted by Mascoma Chapter Steering Committee members
Blake Allison, Jeff MacQueen and George Clark.

People from southern locales wishing to carpool should meet at 6:30 a.m. in
the “Park ‘n Ride” lot on the Vermont side of the Ledyard Bridge in

If you decide to travel directly to the site, there are two routes from the
south. In New Hampshire, take NH Route 10 north to the Haverhill Green.
Another quarter mile farther ahead on the left, you'll see Meadow Road.
Turn onto it and follow it about a mile to the boat launch parking area
where walk participants will be assembling.

From Vermont, take I-91 north to Exit 16 - Bradford/VT Route 25. At the
bottom of the ramp, turn right onto Route 25. Follow it about a mile,
crossing US Route 5 and passing Farm-Way, before traversing the Connecticut
River into NH. A quarter mile farther, River Road will appear on your left.
Turn onto it traveling north until the road's junction with NH Route 10.
Turn left onto Route 10. Then follow the above directions for NH to arrive
at the park.

The trip is free and open to the public. All experience levels are welcome.
The walking is level traveling over a dirt road and lawn-like grassy areas.
Bring binoculars and/or spotting scopes as you prefer. Water is
recommended. In the event of steady rain, the event will be cancelled.
