Subject: IBET October Big Month competition
An invitation for people who bird Cook County:

The Forest Preserves of Cook County is sponsoring a Big Month competition in October. As was the case for the 2016 Big Year, teams will adopt a preserve and compete against other preserves. There will be three ways to compete:
See the greatest number of bird species
Have the highest percentage of bird species seen compared to the historical totals
Have the greatest number of checklists
All are welcome: form or join a team, attend a field trip, or bird a competition site on your own. All bird sightings entered into the eBird hotspot will count toward team totals.

Here are the teams so far - it’s not too late to add a new one:
Busse
Eggers Grove
Sand Ridge Nature Center
River Trail Nature Center
Salt Creek/Bemis Woods
Skokie Lagoons
Spring Creek Forest Preserve - South
Chicago Botanic Garden
Orland Grassland/Orland Grassland South
Deer Grove East/West
Camp Pine
Buttonbush Slough
Little Red Schoolhouse Nature Center
Perkins Woods
